Assuming that we are discussing an Operating period and not the Opening period (sorry, just had to make sure...)
Fix it like this
In that relevant Legal Entity, in the Ledger form: in the field Fiscal calendar,
a) Note the current value
b) Select another value.
c) Save. Don't recalculate
d) in the field Fiscal calendar, reselect the value noted under a) - and Save just to make sure (if you are on two browser tabs while testing
e) In that relevant Legal Entity, in the Ledger calendar form, now check the Period status for January 2023 for that Legal entity
Did it work (changed the period status to Open)?
That said, I think that this is a b.u.g. and could/should already be fixed. But has been like that for "some time"
Then please consider the access to the Ledger calendar screen, and restrict "someone"...
