Lead and Definite Lead with same name

Hello, I have discovered that two colleagues have uploaded the same project name but one has gone on as a lead and the other as a definite lead. I'd like to delete the definite lead and use the lead that is already on the system and then qualify it as a definite lead. I have looked at duplicates and how to find them etc but I don't think i'm looking at the correct subject matter. Can anyone enlighten me please?

    Hi Dawn Eccles,

What is the difference between a Lead and a Definite Lead? If they are both Lead records then you can use duplicate detection rules to keep your data clean. You can also run bulk system jobs to detect duplicate records and bulk deletion to remove duplicates.
