Hello Folks,

i have a local D365 FO VM (mounted through hyper-v),i have my customized in it.

I get sync issues when i open form and it says" Sync failed do full build of your model and its reference"

When i do so,all the models will get compiled ,but "Application Suite" is compiling for long(more than 9 hrs ) and it doesnot give any message nor error..it just keep on compiling

Please let me know solution for this if anyone had faced such issues..

Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Disha,

This is due basically to its old architecture.

Increasing the speed of the CPU won't bring you too much benefit, because the CPU doesn't reach the maximum value.

X++ Compiler doesn't scale well, limited to a 32-bit architecture even if running on a 64-bit architecture because AX client is 32-bit, so if you have more code, it will take more time.

Have a look at Joris' blog:

    https://daxmusings.codecrib.com/2013/04/dynamics-ax-2012-compile-times.html

And you can try to remove best practice checks.

    Hope this helps.

Can you please have a look at the Details tab on the Build form, perhaps there is some information there about what is going on.

You are talking about AX2012, this is a problem on D365FO, so its no longer a 32-bit architecture.

Moved to the Dynamics 365 forum.

    Hi Disha,

Can you tell if you are running this environment on a fast SSD or not? It is heavily depending on Disk I/O. In addition, also monitor if there is enough work memory available.

It's not running on fast ssd...its a local machine mounted via hyper-v.

    Memory is there

    Hi Disha,

If it is running on a HDD, then indeed, it can be very slow. A fast HDD can reach 100MB per second where SSDs can be at least 5 times faster.
