Data Migration from Dynamics NAV to Dynamics AX

Hi everyone,

I will like to migrate all the data from our Microsoft dynamics NAV to Microsoft Dynamics AX, please does anyone have the corresponding fields mapping from NAV to AX? or is there a technique that can be used to understand the tables so data migration can be seamless.

Hi Olu,

There is no document. It would be the experience from NAV or AX professionals to be able to know or find table/field names. The data model is quite different.

Hi Olu,

There is no seamless migration. In AX, you can use Data Import Export Framework to import setup, master data and open balances. You have to map all tables and fields manually. It is not recommended to migrate full historical transactions.

As there are too many differences between NAV and AX it is not possible to just switch from one to the other.

Hi Olu,

Please refer to this topic, specially Bertrand's comment, where he wrote that there is no standard tool for converting data from NAV to AX - Data Import Export Framework can be used for this purpose.
