Timeline task and phone call due dates and completion

Hi, I have been hunting around to see if I can change the fields that show in the Timeline UI for tasks. Looking at the timeline on a record, without going into the task you can't see it's due date.

Also, when manually logging a phone call, our users are having to take a second step to create and then close the call. In the classic interface, calls auto-closed. That was alot more user friendly.

Are these things settings changes with an easy-fix?

While talking about activities and timeline, I thought it was also worth raising that if it was easier to identify a closed task in the timeline, that would make it easier too. (it used to be greyed out instead of a tiny "completed")

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked the timeline enhancements that came with the 2020 Release Wave 1, this April?

The timeline now displays activity status (active, closed, overdue)

Hi Samantha, did you end up finding a way you can grey out the activities? we to are struggling with the changes to the Timeline and/or limitations on the activity sub grids?

    Hi Samantha,

First, from looking at your screenshots, I can see that you have not enabled the Early Access to the Release Wave 2 on your environment.

They greatly improve information density and usability. You can find out more here:

    powerapps.microsoft.com/.../

To enable the Early Access on your environment, see here:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../preview-october-2019-updates

Now regarding your specific issue: just a suggestion as I haven't tried it personally, but can you check if Card forms could be of any help here?I believe they can be used to customize the timeline rendering of activities.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../create-card-forms

You can edit the timeline properties to select a card rendering instead of the default fields for activities.
