New labels not showing in D365 FO

Hi,

We have a label file and are being asked to create all the lable files Id starting with "@LAB".

So for example my last label id as

@LAB102 - sales id then my next label id will be @LAB103 - Purchase id .

Now the problem is that the old labels I can see in this case "@LAB102 - sales id  "  but the ones which I have added today are not visible that is  @LAB103

I deployed the labels files multiple times and have even deleted the folder under the resources folder and recreated it via the build.

Its quite strange becase I have created the labels same way as it used to be.

I know that the labels should no tb created with @ but that is something I cannot change it.

Not showing means it just shows the label id and not the name .@LAB103

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Vicky,

The label files are usually pasted like - @<Label file>:Label. You can open the label file and select the label. You can then try copying the label and pasting it to the location (form caption, menu item etc.), where you have assigned it and see if that works?

    Thanks for replying back Gunjan

I tried these steps but still it doesnt fixes the issues.

Also I keep on getting lots of best practise warnings which sometimes double up after build and it is quite strange.

In the below case even though I have a variable passed to strfmt it still gives me below warning/

Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression State

Warning BP Rule: [BPUnusedStrFmtArgument]:The placeholder '%3' to strFmt is not used in the format string.

Is there a way to sync the labels maybe its not syncing up with normal build and sync

    Hi Vicky,

I don't think the BP warnings are related to the labels issue. Looking at the warning, maybe you haven't assigned a value to %3 in the string used in strFmt statement.

Could you try a full build of all the models and see if that fixes the issue?

I did a full build with sync

           Info(strFmt("@LAB123",  firstname, lastname));

    @LAB123 = Your name is %1 %2.

In this case why it is giving BP warning..

My major issue is that i see @LAB123 and not Your name is vik Me.

    and warning is secondary issue

What language(s) have you created the labels in and what is the language set for your user under "User options"?

  • vicky1234 Profile Picture

The language under my profile is en-us and there are multiple language files created for this label file.

    eg LAB_en-us., LAB_en-gb etc.

The strange thing is its working for a label i created a week ago and not for yesterdays and todays....

I had even restarted the VM and VS multiple times

So, if you use "@LAB102" (any label Id you created earlier), it shows you the label text properly? Just to confirm, "@LAB123" has been created in the "en-us" file. Correct?

    yes.

Infact I even ran a job with old id and new id /

it showed the value of old id but for new Id it returned the Id and not the value.

    thanks for replying back

    Hi Vicky,

I am still not sure how the labels are not in this format - @<Label file>:<Label>. Are these labels from an upgrade of AX 2012?

    Hi Vicky,

Have you verified if the build was completed successfully? Did you build a project/solution or the whole model?

Do you have this issue on a development environment or another?
