Update from deployable package

Hello,

We have purchased a package from a vendor and have been using it for a while. We have received on our LCS and update from the vendor, but when we go to deploy it to the UAT environment get the following error "“The selected package is missing the following modules that are currently deployed on your environment. You must create an all-in-one deployable package that contains all your code customizations and ISV solutions. ..."

I do understand what the error means, so I tried to go to DEV to deploy it, to create a package from there, but I cannot deploy it on DEV.

How do you deploy an update from a vendor when it doesnt include all the models you have added/created?

Thanks

Astrid

You say you cannot deploy on DEV. Can you elaborate on that?

The only type of environment that doesn't allow deploying is a build VM. I'm worried you're developing on a build VM?

    Hi,

In addition to the link provided by Sergei, please go through this link which outlines creation of all-in one deployable package. There is a section that talks about ISV packages without source code, which is probably your scenario.

Is that package part of your source control before ? If not you can add it in your source control . Take a look at below link to see how to add it

    docs.microsoft.com/.../manage-runtime-packages

Once it become part of your source control , along with other model which are already there in UAT , create a deployable package and  deploy it.  You will still get a warning as you are deploying new code from ISV but you can ignore it.

    Hi AstridMalanka,

You need to install the package in DEV and check-in code to source control. After it's done, you need to build a deployable package with all models including ISV from Azure DevOps.

You can follow docs.microsoft.com/.../install-deployable-package to install ISV package in dev.
