Performance goal, weight factor

Hi there, can someone explain by some examples of how the "Weight" is being used in the Performance Goals ??  is this field is useful for organisation with multi companies, but the performance review is carried out centrally by HR ?

    Calculate the score according to the rating weight.

    Yes. The field 'weight' is suitable for multi legal entities.
