Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Iam trying to find an easier way to export data from dynamics 365? when I use the Export option it only exports header information .

I did find an app below App source  but my concern is the information I require is from a customer entity not Sales ,Customers service ,Field Service and Project Series

I tried to used the Advanced Find but no luck  any ideas?

I agree with Omnia, the advanced find is probably the best option here.

The customer lookup field can be a contact or an account, and you should be able to export it using the advanced find easily.

What went wrong with the advanced find?

I suggest you Advanced find the Customer entity but before displaying results Press Edit Columns and add the fields you want to have in your excel sheet, then press Results and Export it as a dynamic worksheet

    Hi,

Customer entity is divided into account and contact, look for this 2 entities.

    Hi,

As you mentioned that you would like to export the customer entity , the Data Export Service is to export any entity from D365 to SQL Azure.

RE: Data Export from dynamics 365

There are multiple ways to export data from Dynamics 365 -

    1. Export to Excel from views - Use any existing view and click on the export to Excel tab to export the view data into excel as a Static or Dynamic Worksheet

    2. Export to an Excel Template from views - You can create a excel template and allow users to Export data using the Excel template from the entity view. More details here - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/admin/analyze-your-data-with-excel-templates#export-and-analyze-data-using-the-new-template

    3. Export using the Data Export Service - You can replicate the Dynamics 365 Data to an Azure SQL Database. Here is a link - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/admin/replicate-data-microsoft-azure-sql-database

This is assuming you have the proper security role rights to export data.

    Hope this helps.
