Display name for form field doesn't update when changed

Hi!

I've stumbled upon a problem and since I'm new to Dynamics I couldn't figure it out without any further help.

When I change the display name of a form field from contacts, it doesn't update (after I saved and released the updates).

I'd be very thankful for any help.

Greetings,

Michelle

    Hi partner,
I have tried in my instance and everything worked fine.
Here are my steps for your reference.

1.Open the form editor and select the field you want to change and click on "change properties".

2.Choose the "detail" tab to open the field editor and change the display name, save&close.

    3.Save&publish the form.

    4.The display name updated successfully.

In addition, if the issue still exists, I recommend that you could go to system costomization and click on "publish all customizations".

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

    Please follow below steps-

-Remove field from the form , save  and publish.

-Add the field again and change display label ,save and publish.

If above steps does not work try to remove whole section where the field exists and recreate section with the field.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the fast response @ all.

The original problem was, that even if I published all customizations, it didn't update. My bad if I didn't clarify it enough.

I am sure that it could be solved by deleting the section and adding it again, but I'm afraid that it would cause a loss of the data that has already been entered. How do I prevent this?

Thanks again for the effort and a nice weekend to everyone.

    Hi

I had similar issue couple of time, and only way i was able to resolve this is by removing the field fromt the form, saving and publishing and then adding the field back and doing a save and Publish.

Please note  you will not lose any saved data, form is just to display data, it does not affect the saved data

    Good day partner,

To prevent data loss, we can export the field data before deleting the field and re-import after creating a new field.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

    Leo

I believe the suggestion from others is to remove the field from the form. This does not delete the field. So, to review the steps: In the form editor, select the field, click "Remove" at the top. Then, save and publish the form. After the form is published, add the field back to the form, and Save and Publish again.

Thank you very much! That sounds great. Could you maybe tell me, how to export and import the field data?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.
