    Hi Ismail

For sure .Net, at least, basic knowledge.

Also go through Microsoft Dynamics Learning Portal.

There a lot of webcast, like 80754AE: Microsoft Dynamics 'AX 7' Performance, Reliability and Scale  about Architecture.

Neither is necessary. You have to understand X++, Dynamics AX objects (classes, data model etc.) and architecture of AX 7.

Knowledge of C# will help, because X++ now includes a few new concepts similar to those in C#, such as extension methods.

You don't generally deal with HTML, JS and such things, as you didn't work directly with GDI in old AX. You compose GUI from controls such as grids. The exception is designing new controls.

    hi Martin,

in Dynamics AX 7, is the development approach is still the same with Dynamics AX 2012 R3 lower? (MorphX / AOT) ? Can we still able to see the objects behind a form such as datasource, classes, etc by simply right click on the form, right click personalize then edit the form?

Which IDE will be used most, Visual Studio? or MorphX?

May I suggest you look at Dynamics 'AX 7' Technical Preview Help Wiki and/or some blog posts about AX 7? Your questions have been answered quite a few times. I even answered your last question on this very forum a few hours ago.

No, there is no MorphX anymore; the whole Windows client is gone. Development is done in Visual Studio.

Of course, you can open forms, see datasources etc.

Read the documentation, look at videos on Partner learning portal and run the technical preview by yourself. You'll learn all these things and much more.

    hi Martin,

thank you for the link :-)

so now we can do X++ code in Visual Studio and enjoying all the luxury of Visual Studio like intellisense (quick and handy).

and there is LINQ also ;-) . hard choice between while select X++ , or foreach C# LINQ :-)

Dear Ismail - Please be note that, If you have good knowledge in C, C++, Java then development in AX an easy for you. As we know C++ and Java  object oriented languages also C#. The only thing you need to know how to declare the objects and how to write new functions/method() and how to call this objects in parent class. So start practicing C++ and Java declarations and I'm sure C# or .Net is not a big deal for you to do the coding in AX...

    Thanks

Why would you use C# to develop against AX when X++ is made for that task?
And why would you use LINQ what can it do that X++ select's can't?
Use the right tool for the job.

Many people think that x++ will be completely replaced by c#, someday(soon).

as per my thoughts its wrong. it would not happen, because a software(basically Axapta) which is made by x++ supported compiler; replacing programming language means you are reinventing vehicle starting from 0/zero

yes Microsoft is trying to bring things in one box(Visual Studio), but that does not means replacing basics of a software. An example of this can be seen with SSRS. It was not in VS before, Microsoft integrated it in VS recently, but still its SSRS, behind the scene
