Add a description in an event site

Posted on by 175

Hi

We are trying to use the Event app in D365 for Marketing and one option we are looking for, and I guess it should be kind of very standard, is to have a intro text on the Event page.

As you can see bellow, we have a landing page generated by the Event app.

There is a banner, title, dates, and then directly the sessions. No description of introduction text.

I assume that when someone comes on such landing pages, he would like just to read a bit about the general event, don't you agree?

but maybe it's just because we don't know yet how to change this...

So, questions:

  • How to add a description / text where i've put the Red mark?
  • In addition, we dont have any tracking sessions of sponsors or pass... how to hide these tabs / sections?

Thanks a lot

    Hi,

Have you downloaded & deployed the latest version of the Portal as well? It doesn't get updated during the solution/instance update so has to be done separately.

"The first time you install Dynamics 365 for Marketing, the then-current event website is installed onto your Dynamics 365 portals solution and is ready to use right out of the box. The website won't be updated or overwritten when you update Dynamics 365 for Marketing, so you can freely customise the copy that's installed on your portal. However, Microsoft will continue to develop the event website and improve it with with each new release of Dynamics 365 for Marketing, so if you want to take advantage of the latest features, you can always download it, compare it with your own customised site, and add any of the new features that you like."

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.

We have upgraded our solution, both sandbox and live and it doesn't change anything.

    Did we miss something?

    Thanks

    Hey Pascal,

When you upgrade your instance to the latest release of Marketing, you will find that:

    1. Adding the description text for the event under "Additional Information" > "Description" (On the Additional Information tab) would make it show up for the event.

    2. Unused tabs, without relevant entities (if you're not using any Session Tracks, for example) will automatically be hidden on the website.

    Thanks
