Content block bug?

Hi

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I noticed some weird behaviour with newly created content blocks. They are not visible in the content block section when I want to build a new email from a previously created template. If I create a brand new email without using said template, I find the content block without any problems.

1. Content block section using template - the newly created content block can't be found.

2. Content block creating a brand new email - new content block is there.

Based on this behaviour, my hypothesis is that content blocks will only be visible if the email is created after the creation of the content block. If this is the case, I would argue that the said behaviour is illogical and not the way it was intended to work (ie. bug). We've tested with a couple of different users at the office and everyone experienced the same issue. Anyone else having this problem?

EDIT: After more testing, it seems like this only happens with templates we have created ourselves. Using an email template that comes integrated with Dynamics, we can find and use the new content block.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi SveinS,

    As your description, this should be a bug and you could raise a ticket to feedback this.

    However, when I test this on my side, it could work fine.

    1. Create a new email with the template:

    2. Add the Content block element:

    3. Select the new Content block

    4.And it insert into the email successfully.

    I'm having a similar issue. I'm currently evaluating Dynamics Marketing for our organisation and this issue is not helping!

    Basically I have copied one of our custom html templates from our existing marketing application into the Dynamics Marketing template designer. I've also created a custom content block. When I create a new email using this template, my content block is not available. However if I use one of the existing templates my custom content block is there!

    Is this expected behavior, ie if you make a custom html template you cannot use content blocks??

    Hi, Nick.

    I had support look at the issue. It was indeed a bug, but has been fixed in their latest release. I have version 1.84.2011.0 and everything seems to be working as it should there.

    These two meta tags are required in the head of the HTML page:

    <meta type="xrm/designer/setting" name="type" value="marketing-designer-content-editor-document">
    <meta type="xrm/designer/setting" name="layout-editable" value="marketing-designer-layout-editable">
    Additionally, this <div> tag needs to be the first child of the body tag:
    <div data-layout="true" data-layout-version="v2" style="margin: auto; max-width: 600px;">...</div>
