Hello,

We're having an issue since today when employees use the close (x) button in the ribbon bar of Dynamics 365. Normally you would simply return to the previous screen/view, however the behaviour seems to have changed for people using EDGE or IE11.

When they hit the X, IE and EDGE come up with the message The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the tab. When they hit 'No', they are returned to the previous screen, as they should, but when they hit 'Yes' indeed the tab closes.

We don't see this issue using Chrome.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might have happened to cause this and how I can fix this issue? Some people won't switch to Chrome permanently.

I think this has been fixed, or at least it is working correctly for me again now.

We have some users as well having this issue in Chrome and IE. IE will provide a warning that it is about to close a tab but Chrome simply closes the tab. Not all our users are having this issue using the same browser versions. Clearing cache has no effect either.

Hi Graham,

Good to hear we're not the only ones experiencing this! Hopefully a fix will be found sooner if lots of people have these issues.

We don't have Application Mode turned on either, so that indeed doesn't seem to be the solution.

Hi Forum,
I have a number of users also saying they are getting this issue in IE today.

I have seen an earlier post (for CRM 2011) suggesting that I could Turn off Application Mode in Settings>Administration>System Settings>Customization but this is already turned off?

Please keep me in the loop if anyone finds the answer.
