Publish retail catalog to online store

Hello, can anyone help on publishing retail online catalog to online store?

The problem is that there no products appeared on online store web-site.

I see right catalog structure on my "Contoso Electronics Superstore" (how it was defined in retail product hierarchy), but don't see the products itself - when I choose some catalog category on site it shows "Sorry, something went wrong" and correlation Id in details.

I successfully went through deploying a online store on a stand-alone server (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj991927.aspx) and online store setup checklist, and stopped at the moment that retail catalog has status "Published", but in the Catalog form I see retail channel status "In progress", and all product listings records have status "Ready" for a few days.

This document (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj728712.aspx) describes that listings might have status "In progress", "Success" or "Error", so if I have status "Ready" I think that it menas that some process is not working but I don't know what process.

I checked that Sync Service is working, and all the initial data synchronization is done to online store database.

Thank in advance for replies!

    Vladimir,

here are a couple of things to check:

    - is the SharePoint Retail Publishing job running? Browse its history from SP Central Administration \ Monitoring \ Timer Job status, filter by job definition, browse to "Retail Publishing job". Please keep in mind an initial failure may be reported only once (first occurrence); subsequent error messages may simply state that the publishing failed. Look for longer failing jobs (> 1s), the shorter runs simply check for a state and fail quickly.

    - check the channel publish status in the channel-side db (default name is AxRetailSP)

    select * from ONLINECHANNELVIEW

    select * from AXDBDEV.dbo.RETAILONLINECHANNELPUBLISHSTATUS

    select * from AxRetailSP.dbo.RETAILONLINECHANNELPUBLISHSTATUS

If you have no rows, or if the channel publish status is other than 3, there is a problem with the channel publishing itself. Try and republish the channel.

    - are there listings in the channel-side database? select * from RETAILLISTING

If there are no records, or they don't match the published catalog, there are a number of possible causes:

     - the catalog was not published in AX

     - the AX publishing job was not run/did not succeed

     - Sync Service failed to insert the listings in the channel-side db

     - the listings/catalog may be expired (check the "valid to" in the catalog definition in AX)

From your description, it sounds like at least some parts are working. Please try the suggestions above and post back here - we'll try and help.

    Thanks,

    Dragos

You have mentioned about the correlation ID and the details, could you please paste the details here?

Taking into account the fact that you are seeing that specific error on Publishing Portal, I would suspect that SharePoint search is not working (misconfigured may be) as expected, to narrow down this this issue I suggest this:

    1. Refresh, in the browser, the Publishing Portal (to make sure the error “Something went wrong” appears again

    2. Expand the error by clicking on it – it will show the error ID

    3. Locate the last changed log file at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS

    4. Send us the part (full file could be very big) of the log file which has rows matching that GUID. Or, before sending the file, if you would like to try to figure out what is wrong – then search in the file by that GUID – you might see there some obvious issues.

In addition please make sure that the following windows services are started:

    • SharePoint Search Host Controller

    • SharePoint Server Search 15

Then go to the IIS’s application pool and make sure that app pool “SharePoint Web Services Root” is up an running

Next, please have a look into event viewer for SharePoint’s warnings/errors, some of them can be obvious, if they are not - please send us those errors as well.

Couple of additional things which could help us with the investigation:

    1. Please have a look into http://YourSpServerNameIsHere:40003/sites/RetailPublishingPortal/_layouts/15/ManageCatalogSources.aspx

You should see there something like this:

    2. Open this URL: http://YourSpServerNameIsHere:40001/sites/RetailProductCatalog/Lists/UncategorizedList_000/AllItems.aspx

This will show content of the list in the Product Catalog, can you see any list items there?

    Dragos and Sergey,

many thanks for your replies, they might be usefull in any case because the life and retail online experiments go on.

I solved that problem - there were errors in the IDs of product attributes, and in some reason I did not found them in logs, and after restarting server these errors started appeared in Windows Log.

After making corrections to atrributes products appeared on both sites!

    Hi,

While trying to publish AX 2012 R2 online store I am facing the following error.

Failed to load connectors with following error Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.TestConnector, Version=6.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

    ------------------------------

It is a VM on Azure cloud (custom)

    Channel is published successfully.

Categories are visible in the publishing portal

    catalogue is published.

    RetailPublishing job completes successfully

    RAM 28 GB

User registration works (though at checkout the basket gets emptied)

    >... Hey Sergey, i am facing same issue. however i do see product listed in above URL, but still dont see product in online store. any suggestion ?? Thanks! ...

Can you try Initiate Full Crawl in search index and see whether you will start seeing the products?

    >... channel and catalogue has been published successfully ...

How did you confirm that? When you publish catalog you have a choice to specify whether you want delta publishing only or whether you want to force publish all products without taking into account whether they were modified or not, so, please use 2nd option and see whether you will start seeing the products or not.

    >... Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.TestConnector ...

As you said that is custom VM, so, I believe you didn't GAC that DLL, please GAC it and restart SharePoint Timer Service, this will fix the issue.
