How to delete sub-project/project ?

How to delete a project/sub-project programmatically(Project Management & Accounting)?

    Hi Pradeep,

    What do you mean by 'progammatically' and why do you want to delete them?

    In D365FO you cannot simply manipulate records as in previous versions.

    Also let us know if some transactions have been posted on those projects.

    If you have posted transactions there you cannot simply delete those projects.

    we have a requirement where a project has multiple departments. So for each department we have created sub project under main project. If a user deletes any department associated sub project also be deleted.

    And we don't have any transactions posted on these projects. Programmatically means on button click I should able to delete the project.

    I see.

    So, what you are looking for is the code to realize that, right?

    Have you thought about other (code-less solutions) such as Flow/Logic apps that can do this for you?

    Which exact departments are you talking about? The internal organizations/dimensions? Or another table where you link departments on a project?

    Hi Pradeep,

    It would be possible to set a delete action on your new custom table. In that case, it will also try to delete the related records. Test then if it is preventing correctly if the project already has transactions.
