Link vendor account across multiple entities

Hi,

I just found that AX 2012 R3 allow the user to copy the vendor to multiple entities from the Vendor card when selecting "Add vendor to another legal entity", and then we can change the vendor status for all entities

My question is: if we created 2 vendors in different entity manually, how can we link them together so we can change there status from one button "as the image stated above"?

Regards

    Hi Fadi,

If the vendors are created manually, there could be a link on the party (global address book). If they share the same party, the above function should work.

If the party is different, you can change the party association on the vendor. Also you can merge parties using the Global addresss book form.

    Hi Andre ,

You suggested that we can use the merge functionality.

generally in which cases we will use the merge functionality and on what data basis it will merge the record ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lally,

Merging can be done when you have a duplicate in the global address book.

In fact it will delete one of the parties and will change the party reference to the one you want to keep on entities like customer, vendor, worker etc.
