Issue: Business Central On-Premises (BC210) - Server Not Found Error

(1) ShareShare

Posted on by 2

Environment:

  • Windows Server 2022 Standard

  • Business Central Version: BC60908W1 21

Error Description:

I have installed Business Central 21 (BC210) on-premises using different installation options (Demo, Custom, etc.), but I keep encountering the following error when trying to access the web client:

A server was not found at "http://localhost:7085/BC210/Service". Either the URL is incorrect or the server is currently not available.

The Event Viewer logs show:

Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Types.NavServerNotFoundException: A server was not found at "http://localhost:7085/BC210/Service".
System.Net.WebSockets.WebSocketException (0x80004005): The server returned status code '500' when status code '101' was expected.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Checked if the BC Server Instance is running:

    • Get-NAVServerInstance (PowerShell) confirms the instance is running.
    • Verified in Business Central Administration Console.

  2. Checked Port Availability:

    • Used Test-NetConnection -ComputerName localhost -Port 7085 (port is open).

    •
  3. Checked BC Services:

    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Server [BC210] service is running.

    •
  4. Checked Event Viewer Logs:

    • Found multiple errors related to WebSockets

  5. Tried Reinstalling Business Central with different installation options (Demo, Custom).
  6. Questions & Help Needed:

  • Has anyone faced a similar issue on Windows Server 2022 with BC21?

  • Is there any additional configuration needed for WebSockets or BC WebClient?

  • Could it be an IIS or SSL binding issue?

  •

Any guidance or troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi
Are you trying to access the BC page from the same server where the BC service and IIS are installed?
I hope this can help you, and give you some hints.
    Best
    GR
