Hi,
Our customer has another system where they do the order delivery and they would like to send the update to F&O when it's done. Is there a way to do it via Logic app OData request? So basically they'd like to see in F&O that the Sales order's been delivered. In other words, do the packing slip post.
Anyone? I'm sure this is pretty normal behaviour across the systems? Sales order update via odata?
To post a sales order isn't easy as it seems, a single packing slip can include multiple sales orders, what about inventory dimensions?, a single sales order line could include multiple batch numbers, each one with it's own quantity, so you would have to create those invent batch numbers and then split/pick the inventory transactions with the batch quantity. Even more, I doubt the sales form letter post function is published via OData
Do you mean posting a packing slip using Odata request?
Well, basically yes. Seems like it needs a custom service implementation?

you can exclude the powerapps part. I have created an Odata action in FO for posting Invoice and the same has been called with input parameters.
You should also include the failure handling in logic apps if there is a failure in posting packing slip.
Let me know if you need further inputs
It looks like you are doing the sales order confirmation in those pictures. But yes, otherwise thank you - packing slip posting should be achieved in similar way. Just wondering if that blog post is from 2018, after that they have released hundreds of entities to use, but not a single one for sales order posting?
You are right. You can follow the same approach for your packing slip posting.
I dont think we have an OOB entity for posting. So this asks for a customization.
Another tip : Bringing an Odata action in the standard entity extension would not work. Though it doesnt throw any build errors , the URL from logic app/postman would throw error.
So from my experience, I created a simple custom entity and then included the Odata in it as my intention was call the api.
