Email sent from Dynamics through Outlook fails - Puts a =SMTP: prefix to recipient

I have a user who can't send email from dynamics.

Everytime he creates an email activity and hit "send", the mail is synchronized to Outlook to send, but the recipients email contains a prefix "=SMTP:" which looks like so :

"=SMTP:email@contoso.com" instead of just "email@contoso.com"

This obviously lead to a sending failure in Outlook.

I cannot understand how this happens only for this user.

The user is running Dynamics 365 through Chrome and Outlook 365, Window 7.

I have the same question (0)

    We are using Outlook sync, not server side sync.

    Dynamics version is "Version 1612 (8.2.2.112) (DB 8.2.2.112) on-premises"

    I do confirm this happens when sending a mail from dynamics (browser side).

    Tracking an outlook item works as it should.

    Hi PierreBurton,

    How do you configure server-side synchronization?

    Please note that server-side synchronization does not support mixed use of Exchange / SMTP and POP3 / Exchange. You could refer to this article.

    You could provide a screenshot of your settings. like this:

    Could you provide your D365 version and Outlook version? Is D365 online or on-premises?

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Lu Hao
