Partial packing slip and how to invoice

I have posted a partial packing slip for a sales order and i have invoiced it. Now, i'm not able to post another packing slip. Can there be two packing slips and can you invoice both separately ( for the same sales order), or should a sales order be invoiced only once with multiple packing slips. Please explain the partial packing slips and the invoicing concept and the ways that it can be done.

    If you look at the order line you will have fully received and invoiced it because the invoicing of the entire order will have done this, you will need to credit it out and return the full order, then re-receive and re-process a part invoice.

    So , i posted a partial packing slip and then i invoiced it for the whole sales order instead of the packing slip. Now, the packing slip journal is showing a delivery remainder, but the sales order has been invoiced . So, can  i post another packing slip and invoice it ?

    Nope, you can issue a partial packing slip, invoice it and then ship the balance.

    What does it tell you when you try to post it?
