Hi Guys,

I am trying to bring in activity management in dynamics from where we need to track the time against each activity and category . Can i add custom fields in activities? I guess the answer is no then how can i customise the activities to ensure i am able to pull a report to see where is the time being spent?

i basically want to add two fields in any activity form which can help me pull out the reporting.

    Hi Mihir,

    i did more research and i got what you mentioned. I have now created custom activities and custom fields within those custom activities. This customer field is called e.g ABC and is common field you can find in any entity. Now the challenge how i can i create a view or report having ABC as a field so that i can use filters and see under ABC how many activities were logged etc etc.

    Would be great if you can point in the right direction.

    Thanks Mihir. I cannot add any custom field in activity and can  only chose from the system fields. Can i create a customer field for type in Activity?

    Hi,

    You can add custom fields in most activities like Phone Call. You can also use the OOTB fields - Created on and Modified On.

    You can make use of the timeline feature in v9.0.

    You can also create a custom entity to track the necessary activities start and end time and total time spent.

    Update the entity with the information from the activities.

    Than pull a report from the custom entity.
