Error on purchase order preview:”report selection is empty “ for one entity only

ReportReport

Hi everyone,

I’m encountering an issue when trying to preview a Purchase Order in one of our entities in Business Central. The error message reads: “Report selection is empty.” I’ve set up the report selection with the same report format across multiple entities, and it works fine for all except this particular entity.
Here’s what I’ve tried:
Verified that the same report setup is configured in the Report Selection - Purchase window across all entities.
Re-uploaded the report format to ensure consistency.
Despite this, only this one entity is presenting the error. Could there be any other settings or configurations specific to an entity that could be causing this?
I have the same question (0)

Did you check if the company is populated correctly and run report to test it?

You can also set up the report ID and layout for each vendor in the vendor card, so perhaps you have an issue there. This is done in the Vendor -> Document Layouts Page.

To isolate the issue, create a sandbox environment and try re-creating the report selection settings in the problematic entity. This can help you determine if the issue is environment-specific or entity-specific.

If the entity uses specific extensions or localizations (e.g., custom fields or a local report variant), these might interfere with report selections. Try temporarily disabling custom extensions in a sandbox to see if the report selection functions correctly.

Clear any cached data by reloading the page or running the Data Synchronization on the tenant. Sometimes, Business Central entities retain outdated cache data that can affect report selection and cause errors like this.

Double-check that the Report Selection - Purchase settings for the entity specifically link the Purchase Order to the intended report ID. Occasionally, individual entities might have customized report selections that override global settings, especially if templates or copies were used at setup.

    Hope that's help
