Are you able to Export/Import Advanced Find queries (Custom Views) between Environments?

Posted on 10 Jun 2022 13:52:52 by 49

So I've been dragged into the world of D365, I am formerly an Oracle Apps DBA, so excuse the ridiculous question.

We have several D365 CE environments, the usual MST, DEV, TST, UAT etc. I was wondering how easy it was to move Advanced Find Queries (CUSTOM VIEWS) between Environments.

Or how can we export the definition of an advanced find query so it can be re-applied to an environment.

The concern is refreshing the TST environment with MST means these CUSTOM VIEWS are wiped.

    I advise you to :

    1. Create a solution via make.powerapps.com > Solutions and then Create a new solution

    2. You add the table (Entity) that conatins the view. Click On add Existing> Than Select Table> And add the table that will contain the view.

    3. If you have a personal view, you must convert it to a system view (You can use this manually or you can use the XRMTOOLBOX tool). If you will create the view manually, Click On View and Then click New to create your view,( https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/model-driven-apps/create-edit-views-app-designer)

    4. Export your solution and then import it in the other environement,

    Hi ,

If view you are referring is system views then it can be added to solution and imported in other environment.

If view is Personal view then you can use below tool in xrmtoolbox to migrate those views
