Our CRM Online 9.0 instances received a maintenance upgrade to what appears to be an unscheduled release and caused an issue with the REST API missing 2 system entities after importing a solution update for our clients. As a result we are unable to update any client solutions.
The CRM Online maintenance release deployed overnight is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Version 1710 (9.0.2.1463) online
The latest documented release is 9.0.2.1455 as displayed at support.microsoft.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-crm-online-releases
Microsoft Support's response to a solution breaking issue as a result from what they refer to be a minor update:
Greetings for the day.
My name is xxxxx and I am the Technical lead with Microsoft Support.
With reference to the issue reported on the service request (xxxxx), we identified it to be known problem on the Dynamics 365 environment. Our engineering team has completed their testing with the codes and has confirmed that this issue is expected to be resolved in the upcoming updates.
As of now we don’t have clarity on when the patch is going to be deployed, and hence I am involving my colleague xxxxx who will provide you regular updates related to the same.
Please make a note that xxxxx will not be able to troubleshoot or expedite any process related to hotfix deployment however his effort will be to keep you updated about the fix and its deployment status on a timely manner.
To make your experience efficient, I would request you to reach out to me if you have any technical queries related to Dynamics 365.
Thanks for choosing Microsoft Products and Support Services. Have a nice day ahead!!
Support marked it today as a bug in the latest 9.0 build.
That document states the August release will be 9.0.2.1455 or higher so I suspect they have either added a bug fix or two or some issues were identified during earlier releases.
Regarding client solutions being broken - I suspect your only option will be to speak to Microsoft who will be able to identify the issues from within your instance's database and recommend an appropriate fix.
