Hi, reference with this post Solved: AX2012 generate an invoice without a product receipt (dynamics.com), I wanted to test that posting invoice against the PO directly without posting product receipt, and product receipt will be updated once I posted the invoice.

The answers given is that it is possible to do so, with relation to item model group setting and invoice matching policy. Is there any way that I can post invoice directly without posting product receipt, with 3 way invoice matching setting since I request the product receipt to be updated right after posting invoice?

I have tried multiple configurations for item model group settings but system still not allow me to do proceed as it will show invoice matching error.

Hi TC,

No, this is not possible. A three-way match is intended to first receive the goods and then during the invoice process check if the goods were actually received or not. You have to mark the receipts against the invoice. As you update the receipt at the time of invoicing you are not following the process for a three-way match. There are in your case no receipts available to mark against the invoice.

You can consider a two-way match which will only evaluate the price and quantity set on the purchase order.
