Microsoft Great Plains - Changing an Account Segment's Name

Hello all,

I am hoping to change a department's name in Microsoft Great Plains. Our accounts are set up as Fund-Department-Natural (x-xxx-xxxx). I would like to edit one of our existing departments and change its name.

I apologize if this is easier than I have made it. Thank you for the help.

Go to Tools >> Setup >> Financial >> Segment to open Account segment setup screen, choose the segment id as department and change the description. save to make the changes. it will prompt for roll down option. if you click yes, then it will be modified changes will be appear in past entries/report else it will be appear for future entries.
