Journal Vouchers are not updated

while 1 user is doing the posting of journal voucher and if another user starts to post another journal voucher, the voucher number gets duplicated.

While posting the journal voucher, the system shows the voucher number is already in use.

this leads waste of time used for entering the voucher lines.

also the system takes more time for refreshing..

this happens in all the journals.. Production / AP...

    Hi Siriram,

Have you checked number sequences used for those vouchers? Please set them to continuous number sequence.

Go the setup of those number sequence groups and set them to continuous.

Also run the Automatic cleanup of number sequences job for recycle numbers automatically for continuous number sequences.

    Regards,

    Zain

    Hi Sriram,

Go to the number sequence you want to generate, Administration> Cleanup > All or the current one you want to do.

You can schedule this through batch jobs.

Please verify the answers if your issue was resolved so that other community members can gain assistance.

    Warm Regards,

    Zain

    Hi,

Do you use the same voucher number of different journal names?

If this is the case then I would recommend that you change this configuration and use unique number sequences for each of your journals.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Sriram GS,

First; check the areas as mentioned by Ludwig and Zain whether you are using same number sequence in different journal names. If not, then you have to check whether cleaning up number sequence is actually solving this issue or not.

If still the problem persists, then you have to check the following.

--- Go to that number sequence and click on Status list. See if there is any record showing with action 'Freed' or 'None'. If yes; then delete that record by selecting Alt + F9. This is for permanently deletion of that number which cannot be used in future.

--- Check if the sequence is set to Continuous or not.

--- Check what is the next available number is set in this sequence and whether that number is appropriate or not. Means; you have to be sure that this next available number is not already posted on a certain date.

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam
