Populate Lookup Field with Value from Related Table

On Price list items you select a product and the unit populates based on what is on the Product Table. This is OOB

Product:
1. default Unit lookup 

Price List Item
1. Product
2. default Unit lookup from the Product

I need to add this logic to a field service price list item. I had to create the lookup field for the Unit. But when I populate the product, it does not populate. I used field mappings and it does not work.

    HI,

    Field mapping will not help you here. You will need to use javascript code to set the lookup based on related entity.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../retrieverecord

    once you retrieved the field from related entity using above web api, you can set the lookup using below code -

    community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-set-lookup-field-value-using-javascript-dynamics-crm

    You can also use Workflow to set the lookup field from related entity but filed value will be set once you save the record.
