Invalid argument while selecting the records in the Lookup fields

Hi Friends,

I have a lookup fields of Employee entity on the Contact and when user is trying to create new records in the contact and trying to select the employee then field is throwing the following error message("Invalid Argument").On the top of that there is a message ("Not able to filter the records for lookup fields")

Can anyone explain me why this is happening and root cause of this kind of error.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Can you please share screen shot of your 1:N relationship between employee and contact?

    Try to create a new employee and check if you are able to attach it to new contact.
