SOAP-based custom service not work

Hi All,

I am new on the Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, now I create a Custom Service by following the article below.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/data-entities/custom-services

After I finishing creating the Service Group base on the article, I try to visit it from the browser, it always returns error 404, but when I try to visit the existed system Service Group, it can show well.

Then I duplicate the existed Service and Service Group, build the solution, visit it from the browser, it still returns error 404. (I think it should work if I use the system service, but failed). I am not sure what is missing, can anybody give me an advice? What should I double check?

    Hi Nick Bi,

    Documentation you are referring says

The SOAP endpoint is at https://host_uri/soap/services/service_group_name

and you confirmed that it works. You can grab WSDL there (it is visible on your screenshot) and build proxy client to consume it using Visual Studio.

    Hi ievgen Miroshnikov,

Thanks for your reply, but sorry I do not understand your mean about "build proxy client to consume it using Visual Studio".

Now when I test with the system service group, it can work. but when I test with my service group, it returns error 404, I think maybe there is some setup missing, but I am not confirmed. Do you have a more detail document about how to create the service group on D365?

404 means resource not found. Seems that this service was not deployed.  Can you check if your service meets the following requirements:

    1. All the service groups under the AOTService group node are automatically deployed.

    2. All services that must be deployed must be part of a service group.

    Hi Ada Ding,

Thanks for your reply, I confirm my service meets these two points. And I find there exists one test project in the Code example in the GitHub. This file is an integrated Service Group, then I import it to my D365 environment and test with the service group name, it also returns error 404.

For my case, I notic that the AOSService on IIS was stopped, and I am using a host_uri.

There are two host_uri on my side, one is for the D365 online, another one is for the development.

After I start the AOSService and changing to use the host_url for development, my custom service group can be visited on the browoser.
