Printer setup for defined users from NAV

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We have for example user that daily prints a lot of contracts from word (white paper from 1st Tray, duplex set to TRUE) and invoices from NAV (preprinted paper, dupley set to FALSE). Invoices are printed also on other printers from different departments.

What is the best way to do this? Is it possible to add to Printer selection also Tray and Duplex printing? Or it is possible to set printer instance (like copy) with default setup (Tray 2, duplex=FALSE) and use it in Printer selection?

The only option I found is from https://www.cyltr.com/ - make multiple copies of the same printer, each has its own port and printer setup. You can then select which one to use for different use cases either using printer selections builtin NAV feature, selecting default printer programatically or making different copies of the report.

There are several ways to notify the printer selection

for the reports from the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client.

However, the advantages of printer selection are as

    follows:

    1. On company letterhead, it is possible for you to print reports.

    2. Reports can be printed on different sorts of paper sizes.

However, I have notified the other steps to facebook,  I am sure this might help.

I think re-installing the application will do that, Just make sure you are uninstalling each bullzip and ghost script, Now Ghost script is a tricky thing, if you are installing 32 bit over 64 then you are having a problem,So try this very sensually I also have Epson Printer Error Code 0xf1  and if its solution available here notify me.

You may go with the second option, It is possible to set the printer instances with the default setup, as by default, this is already granted for all the settings which are re-enabled. If you want to change the settings, you may change it through Lenovo Laptop Screen Flickering and besides that, another option is also available but it is a little bit complex.

You can make basic printer selection setup when printing reports from NAV: docs.microsoft.com/.../hh166859(v=nav.90)

Printer selection sets the default printer for a document (report). You can add here all the printers you need, but settings for printers are out of NAV.
