Why do certain tasks in batch jobs use the empty batch group?

Hi there,

I have a question with regards to batch processing.  I have created a Recalculate stock batch job and assigned it to a batch group.  However, when I looked at the tasks inside the batch job, I noticed that some of these tasks were NOT using the batch group I assigned but the empty batch group.  Why is this please?

    Hi Anthony76.

You must use the Empty Batch Group with Reacalculate Stock created. Especially in workflows.

    Hi Juan,

Thank you for your reply.  Why do certain tasks in the Recalculate Stock batch job use the empty batch group, even though I assign another batch group to the batch job?  Is there any way to have all the tasks inside the batch job use the same batch group (the one that I assign)?

the task you schedule will use the batchgroup you assigned, however, if that batch task creates new runtime tasks (which is typical behaviour in multithreading), they wil use the 'empty batchgroup' (unless explicitly programmed otherwise).

Also check sjakalax.blogspot.be/.../axtech2014-day-2.html: this is something I picked up at the tech conf last year.

As Tom says when create new tasks, by default, the system assigns them to an empty batch group  This is a default batch group that can’t be removed for tasks that are not explicitly assigned to a group.
