Not able to access sandbox

Hello all, 

I am a user trying to get the MB-210 certification, and following the self-paced training about D365 Sales. 
I tried to access a sandbox during the unit 6 (manage opportunities), but the sandbox did not open and the message /you need someone to give you an access to a license/ appeared. 

I am confused, I thought that the whole learning path was free for users who want to learn & train themsleves, is it not the case? Do we need to purchase D365 Sales in order to learn and get the certification? 
The other sandbox that I saw in a course before was accessible for free. 

Many thanks for your help on this, I would really like to get my certification!

    ok, thank you Leah, so it confirms what I thought.
     
    So would you be able to help me? The main question was more: how can I open this sandbox while the message is displayed that someone needs to give me a license to be able to open a sandbox? I am unable to access it.

    I am blocked in my learning, I can't open the sandbox because of this message.
