How to use Hololens Guides for annotating on 3d models and not on real-life objects?

I have 3d model on which I need to create the entire guide as well as annotate.
The use case is not dependent on any environment or real-life object.

Is this possible? Any references on how to achieve this would be helpful.

Thanks

    Hi partner,

This is an overview of creating guides in Dynamics 365 Guides, which has an introduction to 3d models, I hope it can help you.

Hi Leco, Thank you for replying.

I have already gone through the links that you have mentioned. From what I see there is 3d objects or 3d parts are used over real-life equipment.

However, my use case consist of a virtual equipment and I need to annotate that model.

This would not require any use of anchors.

This youtube video might help to understand the use case better - https://youtu.be/C9jVUK5mlxw

I would like to know if this is possible and if yes some pointers on which I would like to get help is -

    1.  How do I load the model without any anchors?

    2. How to keep the model persisted in the environment?

    Hello Hardika,

You can use the anchor type called "holographic" to position your virtual equipment wherever you want, no QR code required.  I recommend setting the anchor visual mesh as your object, and then on the first step of the guide, do your best to align the same 3D object to that position.  From then on, you can "copy and paste" the 3D position from the edit hologram menu on each step.  This will ensure your virtual equipment stays in the same place.  Use the other 3D Toolkit arrows and hands to annotate your virtual machine in this way.
