Will Dynamics 365 ERP eventually be part of Power platform?

As I understand it, today it´s required to integrate Dynamics 365 ERP (for e.g. F&O) with Power Platform to make data flow between the systems.

What is your best guess, do you believe that Dynamics 365 ERP eventually will be part of the Power Platform in the same way as the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (Sales, Marketing, Customer Service etc) are today?

Thanks!

I have the same question (0)

Here is an article that I hope explains this:

Microsoft Power Platform integration with Finance and Operations apps

Thanks for your reply @Efrain Hernandez.

However, that link just states that some admin settings will eventually move from LCS to Power Platform admin center.

I know that there are no official documentation on this subject, that´s why I´m happy to here your opinion if you believe whether F&O database eventually will be merge with Power Platform Dataverse?

    Hello kranis,

If you expect a definite answer then I would recommend trying to reach out to MS and the product team.

There are a lot of opinions and to avoid wrong rumors and/or opinions spread out, the best things is if you try to get the information you are looking for directly from MS.

You can do this e.g. by opening support tickets or going through the roadmap documents and reaching out to the contacts mentioned there.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Kranis,

There are efforts for convergence, but that does not mean that ERP will be on top of the Power Platform. The work to be done is to have all apps and features working seamlessly with each other. There are many technical differences between the Power Platform and the Finance and Operations platform which can't be just converted. Too many lines of coding needs to be rewritten which would be insane to do.

On the other hand, have a look at certain efforts by moving several features to micro services. E.g. there is a planning service (MRP) and Microsoft is investing more in separate services; namely to support performance and scalability.

Thanks for your reply @Ludwig Reinhard

I have not heard any of these rumors before. I was just hopping to get to know whether the topic is an active discussion or not, and in that case what are the pro/cons that are raised in the debate.

I have contacted Microsoft before regarding this and they just refers me to the documentation.
