Since we’re going to have to go through an upgrade to move to Business Central, anyway, why shouldn’t we take a look at what other ERP solutions have to offer? After all, this would be the perfect time to consider what else is out there, right?

It’s always wise to consider your options, especially if you’re facing a major upgrade by moving from NAV to BC, you might be considering another ERP system altogether. We think BC is definitely the way to go. BC already has one of the largest installed user bases of any ERP system in the world, with more than 150,000 organizations and 2.5+ million users. Plus, if you’re already a fan of NAV or use other Microsoft products like Office, it makes sense to go with BC. However, we also understand that it’s reasonable to consider your options. That said, we’d like to offer you some advice regarding how you shop for an ERP…any ERP.
",sans-serif">ERP has changed dramatically. Most ERP systems are comparable when it comes to features and functionality, so using the traditional RFP/checkbox approach is not the way to go. The questions you ask need to change. With the advent of the cloud, ERP is not so much an application anymore. It has the potential to be a business platform that not only supports your business processes across the organization, but it also adapts and grows as you do and gives you access to data so you can use it to make strategic decisions.
