So, the ArcherPoint Microsoft Dynamics NAV Developer Digest was born. Each week, we present a collection of thoughts and findings from NAV/BC experts and devotees around the world. We hope these insights will benefit you, too.
Saurav Dhyani shares in his blog post, MSDYN365BC – 2020 Wave 1 CU 16.2, the feature changes as well as application and platform hotfixes found in this most recent cumulative update.
Kyle is curious: “Let's say you have a working on-premises Business Central v15 implementation. Do you keep that customer on BC15 but apply cumulative updates periodically? Or do you upgrade that customer every 6 months when BC16, BC17, etc. come out? Follow-on question: Do you suggest they move to BC SaaS sometime soon so that this isn’t a problem?”
Matt T offers: “I think you upgrade them every 6 months, but that is just my opinion. As far as SaaS goes, I believe everyone should be able to speak to the benefits of it and steer the customer towards a conversation with their account manager if they are interested.”
Tim M agrees: “There are many variables that need to be discussed and considered, and each client will have their own unique ones. Matt is correct; bring in the account manager as soon as the topic comes up.”
