One of my customer is using NAV integration in NAV 2017 to CRM On-Prem. They want to switch CRM On-Prem to CRM On-line next week. What would be the changes they have to do to connect their NAV 2017 to CRM Online. Will that be a fresh new integration?
Appreciate your help.
Hi, hope the following helps.
Deprecation of Regional Discovery Service in MSDyn365 for Sales causes integration issues with Dynamics NAV / Dynamics 365 Business Central
Thanks i have this link. I wanted to understand if we need to do this integration from scratch or just need to change few fields only as customer is already using NAV integration with CRM On-Prem?
This will indeed be considered as a new integration setup. For the requirement the customer must be on latest Cumulative Update or on a Cumulative Update that does support OAUTH2 connection (see latest blog post from ZHU).
I would not consider this a "new" integration. As Marco said, you need to be on a CU that supports OAUTH--which I think all CU's published in the last 10-12 months do support. Once that is done, then you're just pausing the current integration, moving CRM data to CRM Online, and then re-connecting with OAUTH to the online db.
The only potential issue would be if in the move from on-prem to online, you made significant changes to the CRM data--particularly if the record id (GUID) changed.
