In PSA. I have a Project approval record, that don't have an associated Project or Project Task.
When, I'm trying to approve it, I'm getting the error "You are not a valid approver for one or more selected entries.". Any ideas why and how can I fix it? Don't suggest to add a Project Team Member under a Project, since this Project Approval record don't have an associated Project. ))
Well if the project manager is the approver by default then you check one setting on the Team.
Open the project managers record and check mark the approver to yes and you are done.
On Time Entries, there is a Manager field. If this is a non-project related Time Entry, then your user needs to be selected in the Manager field to make sure you can approve the Time Entry.
If you are entering NON-Project time, the Manager field on the User record (User Entity) is the person who would, by default, have the capability to approve your time. So, if you setup the user record appropriately, where each has a manager, then you should be all set to go for Non-Project Time Entry.
Hi Scott, good to know it's mapped from the User record. Is there a workaround so that a Team or multiple approvers can be set up?
You can delegate Approval as well. Antti Pajunen wrote a great article about it: community.dynamics.com/.../dynamics-365-project-service-automation-project-approval-delegation-on-project-level
Let me know if this would satisfy your requirement. If not, I have a few more ideas.
Hi Scott, the article you've send is also in combination with Projects. We are actually using the Time and Expense Entries in combination with Work Orders. In this case the Manager field needs to be filled in, but this limits the approval to only one user. Do you have any ideas in solving this without using the Project entity?
Hmmm. I don't think I've ever seen approvals completed by using a "team." I'll have to explore that.
