I am filtering a custom entity called projects- with a number from 1. - 13. - However it jumps from 1. ... then to 11.. then to 2? I have configured sorting what should I do why is this happening?
Hi Justin Wilkinson,
This column sorts alphabetically not numerically.
You need to add another column with just the number and use that for sorting. As mentioned above, title is a text field so 11 will come after 1 ( and not 2).
Hope this helps
This is because Title is a text field, sorted exactly by the first letter. 2* is larger than 11, so the title starting with 2 is always after the title starting with 1.
There are two ways:
If there is no such numeric column, you could create a Number field for the Project entity, and set its Field Requirement property to Business Required and Data Type property to Whole Number.
Then add the Number column to your filter View. Sort by Number column, you can sort by the correct serial number.
Hope this helps.
