Microsoft Dynamics' Role Tailored design enables people to cut through the clutter, delivering just the information they need, where and when they need it. Users can work effectively with an intuitive, RoleTailored user interface and Role Centers that help organize, prioritize, and access tasks and information from within a single window. Microsoft Dynamics AX delivers powerful business intelligence across your organization so that every individual in your organization can turn information into genuine insight, and insight into action. The solution provides quick, Role Tailored access to real-time data and a wide range of analytical and reporting tools—including graphical displays, online analytical processing (OLAP) cubes, and Web-based delivery options.

Here you see an example of a Role Center—one of the most powerful tools for delivering tailored, relevant BI. The Role Center is essentially a preconfigured home page that provides an overview of information and processes for a specific job role, including work lists, activities, frequently used links, and key business intelligence information. People can use their Role Centers to access information and processes and prioritize their work. They also can personalize them to fit their specific requirements. For instance, they can add KPIs or links to reports. This is an example of the Role Center for your CEO, Charlie.

In contrast, SAP has traditionally struggled with usability and is now promising a "Unified Interface" similar to the current interface in its Customer Relationship Management module. It will most likely take several quarters to release the interface for general availability. Meanwhile, SAP currently offers a family of user interfaces that can add extra work for IT to deploy and upgrade. While SAP is planning for the future, we deliver today.
