I wanted to know the process standard Ax Enterprise Portal offers on change of Personal Information through ESS. I would assume that when an employee changes any personal information like Address, it would trigger a workflow which will either be approved by the direct manager or HR, following which the employee will be notified of the change and the updated record will appear on ESS.
Can anyone pls confirm if my understanding is correct? Unf. I don't have a system to validate this hence will appreciate any help from experts here.
It depends if you grant edit rights to the employees if they are allowed to change e.g. contact details. A workflow is not available. Changes are written to the employee record directly.
Possibly you can look at Alerting functionality to have someone notified when employees changes their information.

Do you know where I can find details about each HR functionality on ESS and MSS ? I searched TechNet but there was no clear description of processes, like this question of mine. Would really appreciate if you can share some documents/links. Thanks again for your quick response.

Also thank you for sharing the link to Personal Information change steps. It's more like a training document describing how user would perform the steps. There's no description of processes. I guess TechNet is for consultants and not end users. Anyways, thanks for your help.
I do agree that the Technet information is just providing the features within the ESS. There is indeed not a complete flow how an end user should use the system. This is also very hard to describe in general by Microsoft. Due to multiple settings in AX there are multiple ways to use the system. Usually a work instruction or manual of processes will be created for specific customer environments within an implementation.
