I'm new with the TMS module from AX 2012 R3.
I have one simple question. Everytime I tryed to route more than one sales load I found out that AX takes each load as if the start point to calculate rates and distances is the own warehouse instead of using the destination from the previous load. I mean, if I have to deliver two sales order and each one is a load, then I will get distances and rates calculated for point A (own warehouse) to point B (customer1's warehouse) and then again point A to point C (customer2's warehouse). I would like to calculate point A to B and then point B to C. Is it possible?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding some basic concepts. This would be more necessary yet if you have sales and transfer loads where you cann't consolidate the transactions.
Hope you help me on finding some workaround.
Thanks for your help.
You are correct in your observations. The rate and route is currently only considering shipments as of your own loading point. Combining shipments would be your efficiency.
AX is not capable to do this out of the box today. It is not built as a transportation planning system.
It could be customized. Or you can calculate it outside of AX.
I will analize some customization.
