I have made reversal for PO using negative Qty process plus i invoiced it as Debit note, now in inventory management this transaction done with 2 steps, first one is purchased 1 item, second is issue the -1 to balance the on-hand stock. Now my question is when i want to close this particular month and make the recalculation procedure which will recalculate the weighted average price, do the sys will calculate it in correct way? because the WAV depends on how many item has been issued this month + the price for each of them !
Please help me with an accurate answer.
Hi Omer, please clear what was the effect occur at the time of reversal? Means the value at the time of reversal changed by WAV or that was same? And have you made any other transaction between this reversal?
If the two transactions are marked against each other then those transactions will be excluded from the inventory closing process. If this is not the case then you might see a value adjustment.
there is no any transaction done in between, and the value is same i think, but my question is that once i run the recalculation it will affect the WAV ?!
But i understood from your answer that the price is changing directly each time you are adding new item to stock?! i'm i right !
Actually i made it through the same SO, like : SO->adding new line-> SO confirmation-> product Receipt ->invoice(DN), does it mean that i have made it against each other or what ?!
Plus there is no any transactions in between.
If WAV stands for weighted average then you might see a value adjustment when running the inventory close.
The marking function allows you avoiding this and uses the same cost and issue price. Are you familiar with marking?
Hi Omer, Yes it is, but if you have used Marking option then there will be no effect at the end otherwise may differ according to level of variance in Values from Activity day till end. But it will be minor.
thanks for being interested to help me.
yes it is stand for WA, and i would like to avoid the adjustment option.
Also i'm not familiar with marking could you please provide some useful links in same regards?
Thank you, i appreciate it.
