We are running AX 2012 R3 and use ACS for our workflow email approvals. Per this MS blog ACS will be deprecated on November 7th and after that anything sent to this service will fail, meaning we will lose this functionality.
The blog indicates we need to switch to SAS but AX 2012 does not support SAS, only ACS. After looking on LCS it looks like they acknowledged this, but wouldn't start work until the winter which has now passed. Does anyone else have insight into this? I've attempted to contact several people at MS but can not get an answer.
It did not take my photo of the LCS, here are the notes:
Issue 3845150Connector for Mobile Applications can't use SAS on a new service bus
Product and version: AX 2012 R3
connector for mobile applications currently uses ACS token for connecting to an
Azure service bus.
Unfortunately, the ACS will
be depreciated. In some regions, it is already not available anymore.
Microsoft has evaluated this issue, and will not be issuing a fix at this time.
Regarding the mobile apps, we will be moving to SAS before the support for ACS is depreciated, most likely our work will start early winter after we have completed our upcoming release. Until then, the Azure support team has agreed to continue to support new AX 2012 mobile customers with their whitelisting process.
As of July 2017, you are no longer able to create a new ACS namespace through the Windows Azure Management Portal. To create a new namespace for Dynamics AX 2012 applications, open a technical support ticket for the Service Bus team to whitelist a new ACS namespace. You will then be engaged by Azure Customer Support to review the request. Please be ready to provide the subscription IDs you want whitelisted.
