We have an urgent need in implementing master planning in a retail industry.
There is a vendor that sends items on Tuesdays and its lead time is two days. So, the order date is on Sundays and delivery date in on Tuesdays on a weekly basis.
A calendar is defined and assigned to a Vendor. In this calendar, Sundays and Tuesdays should be an Open day. In some situations, and order is placed on Tuesday and the delivery date is on Sunday that is not what we expected.
If we set only the Tuesdays as an open day, the orders also placed on Tuesdays!
Your help is truly appreciate.
First of all note that this forum is monitored by volunteers. The word 'urgent' will not help you getting some priority.
Can you share in detail how you did currently setup master planning, the calendar and tell the required outcome? E.g. if you place the order on Tuesday, do you expect the delivery on Thursday? Can you possibly share some screenshots of the current setup?
I have attached to screenshots. I tested both of them and each has its deficiencies.
1. Open days= Tuesdays: order date and delivery date are set only on Tuesdays, but we want to order on Sundays and have delivery on Tuesdays.
2. Open days= Sundays & Tuesdays: in some situations order date is on Tuesday and delivery date is on Sunday (next week) that is not expected.
Another point is that "closed for pickup" check box does not have impact on order date and delivery dates of Purchase Orders. In summery, order dates should be fixed to Sundays and delivery dates should be fixed to Tuesdays.
