We want transfer files from AX 2009 to SFTP , gone through the below link but unable to figure out how to proceed.
(+) File transfer between Ax and SFTP server - Microsoft Dynamics AX Forum Community Forum
Please let us know hoiw we can transfer files to SFTP from AX 2009.
What exactly is the problem? Actually, it's not as complicated as you might think.
Ax does not have the ability to directly connect and send files. For this reason, you need to use a 3rd party product.
There are many 3rd party products on the market. A few of them are mentioned in the link you shared (you should pay attention to the latest version date and usability with .Net Framework 3.5 when choosing a 3rd party product)
What you need to do is to reference the dll of the 3rd party product in ax. You may encounter some difficulties at this point. Its Easier to make a .Net project using a 3rd party product and add its dll as reference in ax.
You will notice that there are methods such as sending/receiving/copying files When you have searched for related products on the internet. You can find .Net example for most of them. Adapt them to your needs and add them to the ax.
Thank you Ergon for the quicj response.
As we are trying this file transfer first time, 3rd party, does it means some code has to be written in .Net(C# class code) generate dll from this class and add this dll as reference in AX AOT, is my understaing correct or do we need to purchase any 3rd party product?
Some of these are open source. Some are paid.
if you have the dll in hand, you can add it directly to the ax.
But It is easier to use 3rd party dll in .Net (as there are alot .Net examples and there are some limitations on ax side)
You can see the examples of related products on the internet and understand how they are used. You can make the values in these examples parametric, create your own methods, and add the result dll reference to ax and use the methods you wrote in ax.
