Customising step titles and instructions in the Warehouse Management mobile app

Laurens vd Tang Profile Picture Laurens vd Tang 3,382 Super User 2025 Season 2
One of the features that has been released is the Warehouse step instruction feature. With this feature, you can customise the titles and instructions for the mobile app. This can be useful for warehouse workers, especially for new warehouse workers. For instance, it offers the possibility to add additional information when the standard instruction does not provide sufficient information for the execution of a process.

Configuration

1. To get started, the first thing you need to do is to ‘Create default setup’.

Path: Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device steps

2. Once loaded, Dynamics shows all the mobile device steps.

3. Select the step you want to customise, for instance the ‘product confirmation’ step.

4. Click the ‘add step configuration’ button. A dropdown menu will appear.

5. In my example I have chosen the menu item ‘ PO Put away’. After selecting you can click ‘Ok.

6. Dynamics automatically opens the next screen where you can customise the titles and instructions.

7. In order to modify a title or instruction you can click the language abbreviation.

8. In the white-coloured fields at the right side, you can modify the titles and instructions. In my example I’ve changed the title to ‘Confirm this product and the instruction to ‘You are about to scan an item’. Click OK to save your changes.

9. The changes are also visible in the form.

Demonstration

1. Mobile app with inbound, outbound, and movements menu items

2. In the inbound menu you select the menu item ‘Purchase order put away’

3. Enter a work ID or license plate

4. Confirmation of the inbound location.

5. Confirmation of the product. In this step you can see the modified title and instruction.
