How to Sign Up and Add Users to CustomerSource

CustomerSource is a Microsoft portal offered to registered Dynamics Users, known as professionals. The Portal provides 24-7 self-support, self-training, video-training, software updates, hotfixes, news, knowledge base, a community portal, and company-specific licensing information.

How to Sign Up

To Gain Access

1. Users must request access to CustomerSource from a registered CustomerSource Administrator from within their company or a VAR contact (ex. Encore Business Solutions).
2. Once the request is complete by the Admin or VAR contact users will receive an email from itmssup@microsoft.com.

3. Copy the hyperlink (circled in red above) and paste the link into an In-Private browsing session in Internet Explorer.
4. When you navigate to the page via the link it will direct you to the Microsoft Account sign-in page. Select Sign-in with your Work Account. Enter your work email and password. If asked whether the email is used for Work/School or Personal Account, please select Personal Account.
5. You should receive a screen saying you are successfully associated.
6. Please wait a few hours after associating before proceeding to the next steps of signing-in.

Signing In

1. Please copy and paste the following link into an in-private browsing session in Internet Explorer: https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/northamerica.

2. Navigate to the top right-hand corner that says Welcome User (top right-hand corner in above example). Select Sign-In in the drop-down menu.
3. Follow the steps to sign-in. If prompted with the below pop-up screen that asks you to enter your Work Account – please press Skip. Example below:

**If it does not redirect you to the Microsoft Account sign in page but rather the Microsoft Dynamics Extranet Login Page, under sign in click Microsoft Dynamics Customers and Partners and you will be redirected to the Microsoft Account sign in page.

4. You should now be signed into CustomerSource and see your name in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Administrator: How to Add Users

Set up a New Professional

1. In order to add new professionals you are required to be an Administrator.
2. Sign in to CustomerSource using your account credentials.
3. Once signed in, on the top right-hand corner click your username to access the drop-down menu and click Our Customer Source Accounts.

4. To add a new user select Add New Professionals, on the screen all users who currently have access will be displayed.

5. The CustomerSource Profile page will open, fill in all required fields and ensure you select the “send invitation e-mail…” box and click save.

Edit an Existing Professional

1. Sign in to CustomerSource using your Microsoft Account credentials.
2. Once signed in, on the top right-hand corner click your username to access the drop-down menu and click Our CustomerSource Accounts.
3. Select the name of the professional you wish to edit.
4. Their profile will open, scroll all the way down to Edit.
5. Make the necessary changes and click save. To re-send the CustomerSource access invitation to the user, click on the “send invite e-mail…” button.

Deleting a Professional

Administrators are responsible for keeping all professionals up-to-date, please ensure you remove professionals if they are no longer with your organization.

Administrators cannot be deleted, in order to delete someone who is an administrator please make someone else an administrator and remove administrator rights from the professional you wish to delete. Billing contacts, Customer Care contacts and Shipping contacts are also mandatory roles, to delete a professional with one of these toles, you must first assign these roles to another professional. When that is done you will be able to delete the professional.

1. Sign in to CustomerSource using your Microsoft Account credentials.
2. Once signed in, on the top right-hand corner click your username to access the drop-down menu and click Our Customer Source Accounts.
3. Click the name of the professional you wish to delete.
4. With the CustomerSource profile page open, scroll all the way down and select delete.
